The Shoe That Grows
Our Youth Ambassador Tadiwanashe Taremba has launched a new project with the goal of buying 50 pairs of the Shoe That Grows for the children of THH. This unique, comfortable shoe will protect the children’s feet for at least 5 years as it grows 5 sizes.
This will make a huge impact in the lives of our children, "One at a Time" for just $20 USD which means the shoe will cost $4 per year for the next five years. What would you do with that kind of money that can last a year? We would say this is great mileage indeed! How many pairs of shoes have you bought yourself for that price in the last 5 years?
We, Tariro House of Hope are so privileged to have been afforded this opportunity to buy The Shoe That Grows for our children in Zimbabwe - the shoe is made in limited quantities so it is indeed a privilege. This amazing idea was birthed by the Founder and Executive Director Kenton Lee when living and working in Nairobi, Kenya in 2007. "One day while walking to church, he noticed a little girl in a white dress next to him who had shoes that were way to small for her feet. That led to questions about why. And finally an idea: “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a shoe that could adjust and expand – so that kids always had a pair of shoes that fit?” And just like that The Shoe That Grows was born.""
In order to accomplish this goal, we need to raise $1,000 USD to buy 50 pairs. We are asking our friends and supporters for a monetary donation of €19.50 or more towards the project. We will purchase the shoes from our friends Because International who are based in the United States we hope to have reached our goal by August 2015 and then we will be ship the shoes to Zimbabwe in September 2015. Tadiwanashe has already found a sure way to get the shoes to Zimbabwe hassle free.
You can make a difference for that one child, a miracle - would you bring a smile to a child even if its one child?
